Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, repairs, and installations.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address maintenance needs
- Perform preventive maintenance on various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, machinery, and building systems
- Install and maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems according to specifications and safety standards
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and breakdowns
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to operations during maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts and supplies
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and new technologies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with courses in Mathematics and Science
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or technical training in maintenance, preferably with a Millwright trade certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or commercial maintenance
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is a plus
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and execution
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- Basic computer skills for using maintenance management systems
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positions (standing, crouching, climbing ladders, etc.)
- N3 Engineering studies or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required
- Experience in the mining industry is advantageous
