Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral & Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. The site provides a range of integrated services for oral solid dosage forms, from formulation development and analytical testing to clinical and commercial-scale manufacture. The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.
Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Scientist I, Biologics II who is primarily responsible for method evaluation, optimization, transfer and validation activities under cGMP regulatory guidance for Large Molecules/Biologics product development and related stability studies. Also responsible for drafting technical documents such as methods, method forms, validation protocols and reports.
This is a full-time role position: Monday – Friday, daytime hours. Flexible with hours worked (7AM-3PM, 8AM-4PM, 9AM-5PM)

The Role
- In support of Large Molecules/Biologics Therapeutics, will execute laboratory testing using the following techniques as required: HPLC/UPLC techniques/methods (e.g., SEC, IEX, RP-HPLC, HIC, peptide map, glycan analysis, etc.), Karl Fischer, Compendial assays, (i.e., appearance. pH, etc.);
- UV-Vis, Aggregation techniques such as MFI, AUC, SEC-MALS;
- Successfully trains on 2-4 methods and/or techniques mentioned above and perform adhoc sample testing activities and participate with minimum guidance in method development, evaluation, optimization, transfer, and validation activities under cGMP as required;
- Applies complex scientific and laboratory concepts and theories related to specific testing in the group;
- Train and coach peers on methods and laboratory instruments and equipment;
- Follow cGMP requirements for legible, accurate and thorough documentation to meet regulatory compliance;
- Drafts and review technical documents such as methods, method forms, validation protocols and technical reports with minimal guidance;
- All other duties as assigned;
The Candidate
- Requires Degree in Life Sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or closely related physical science;
- Requires Bachelors Degree: 7+ years of relevant experience; OR Masters Degree: 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Doctorate Degree: 0+ years of relevant experience;
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Capable of rapid learning of unfamiliar principles or techniques with minimum training;
- Able to prioritize and suggest alternatives or contingencies to achieve the correct technical solutions with most efficient resource utilization;
- Ability to identify aberrant/out of spec data and limited interpretation of data expected;
- Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
