How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The Controls Engineer will design, program, and commission control systems under the guidance of more senior staff. This person will provide operational support to existing control systems in Airgas with multiple platform configurations. This person will also help to collaborate on SCADA system management, plant network management, and control related software product installation, testing and troubleshooting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Controls Systems
- Implement controls systems modifications to comply with global process, Air Liquide Group Standards, equipment and safety standards.
- Provide control technical support during installation, commissioning and operations.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing for control systems.
- Supervise electrical and instrumentation contractors on site for control systems upgrade.
- Follow Management of Change, PHA and other required processes maintain/update equipment configurations as needed. Maintain safety, reliability and regulatory compliance with highest priority
Programming
- Utilize standard function blocks and develop standard logic for PLC/DCS programming. Manage and follow software versions and revisions. Contribute in commissioning and start-up activities in addition to the implementation of the control systems.

Are you a MATCH?
Education:
Bachelor in Chemical, Mechanical or similar engineering field
Experience:
3 years of operating plants PLC/DCS experience
1 year experience in specifying control components including PLCs, safety hardware, sensors, relays, valves and positioners.
1 year experience in building, testing, and troubleshooting control panels
1 year experience with communication protocols including HART, Profibus, TCP/IP, and Modbus
Abilities:
Knowledge on instrumentation and control circuits (24V d/c) and low voltage a/c
Ability to analyze data and develop solutions.
Ability to analyze technical problems, evaluate alternatives and identify the optimum solution.
Knowledge of ISA symbology, as required for P&IDs and electrical one line diagrams.
Flexible to support operations with 24/7 availability for problem resolution
