Sr. Engineer (Central Utilities)
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will provide and/or direct process optimization strategies and/or troubleshooting of operational issues in the central utilities plant operation. Responsible for central utilities generation and distribution for High Pressure Steam (HPS), HVAC Chilled Water (CHW), Process Chilled Water (PCW), Compressed Air (ACP), and other related utilities. Applies advanced and diverse maintenance principles to the design and implementation of major system modifications, experiments, process and/or capital projects.
This role will be directly supporting the Facilities and Engineering (F&E) organization, under the F&E Engineering Services Team.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate and optimize Preventive & Predictive maintenance Job Plans at the utilities systems.
- Support Maintenance technical teams on the corrective and troubleshooting activities on the assigned systems.
- Align within Corporate and site engineering policies and procedures that impact multiple organizational units.
- Supervise, coordinate and review work contractors/suppliers on an ongoing basis as well as on a project basis.
- Serves as a technical expert with overall responsibility for determining methodologies in the area of support.
- Operate under a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Work with project managers to complete design and engineering projects within schedule, budget and quality constraints.
- Manage and coordinate the work of consultants, architects and engineering firms on development of standard design documents.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems using ingenuity and innovation.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Engineering
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering and 2 years of Engineering Support experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of Engineering Support experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotechnology processes.
- Specialized industrial utilities expertise.
- Experience with utilities monitoring systems including Building Management System (BMS), Process Control System (PCS) and PI data historian.
- Familiarity with QMS (Quality Management Systems) including validation, deviations and CAPA management systems.
- Equipment Reliability experience
- Skills in the following areas: Problem solving, Negotiation, Persuasion, Collaboration, Project cost development, Conflict Resolution, Leadership, Team building & Schedule and Resources loading development.
- Effective communication skills (verbal & written), proficient in both spanish and english.
- Flexibility to work extended shift and/or weekends as per business needs
