Description Overview
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for managing the complete maintenance work order process, from request initiation to release, scheduling, and closure upon work completion. This role covers the entire Perrigo New York site, ensuring compliance with established procedures for handling and documenting maintenance work orders. The responsibilities extend to planning activities for both the Maintenance and Facilities teams, including work executed by contractors and service providers.
Additionally, the Maintenance Planner coordinates the planning and preparation of resources such as labor, materials, access, downtime, cross-functional support, and permits to ensure the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance work. Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, this role collaborates with the Maintenance & Engineering organization to enhance the preventive maintenance program at PNY and improve overall asset reliability, while also being accountable for facilities planning activities.
Salary range: $60,000-$70,000
Scope of the Role
- Coordination of SME support for definition and documentation of Scope of Work (SOW) including:
- Work sequence or task list, prioritizing safety
- Maintenance parts, production materials and special tools
- Estimated labor hours and qualification required (internal and external)
- Estimated equipment downtime and production downtime
- Work Order Processing:
- Processing of new maintenance & facilities requests
- Resource planning as per documented SOW
- Work order prioritization according to information gathered during:
- Daily 7:45 AM meeting and other similar meetings
- Hourly / Daily production floor walkthroughs
- Preparation and kiting of materials/parts/tools
- Release to schedule
- Maintenance of relevant Master Data:
- Equipment hierarchy / Functional locations
- Bill of materials (BOM) / Critical spare parts
- Preventive Maintenance plans
- Reporting of Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- PERFORMANCE MEASURES (include but not limited to):
- On-time completion of Preventive Maintenance work orders
- Age of open work orders / Control of work order backlog
- Availability of work orders ready to schedule
- Compliance to PNY quality procedures.
Experience Required
- 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance planning
- Proficiency with CMMS software (SAP PM preferred), Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to interpret technical information (diagrams, drawings, equipment manuals, service reports)
- Strong time management, organization, communication and technical problem-solving skills
- Able to build collaborative relationships
- Attention to detail.
