Position Description:
The Alcon team is looking for a talented and motivated intern to join us onsite for next summer at the Fort Worth, TX location. We are looking for a summer intern in the ASPEX QC Chemistry laboratory to help support finished product testing and release. The selected individual will use a number of different analytical techniques and instrumentation to execute testing to ensure that only high-quality products are released to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze chemical, biological or microbiological finished product samples or stability samples in support of compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements.
Interprets and evaluates the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications.
Recommends and implements corrective action when necessary.
May be responsible for analytical and protocol report writing and standard operating procedures.
May be responsible for maintaining lab equipment and reagent preparation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship
Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree, preferably in chemistry, biochemistry or microbiology.
Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0
Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis. Students on an F1 visa with CPT work authorization may be accommodated
Ability to commit to a 10-12 weeks summer internship, full time (40 hrs./week) project
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry and/or microbiology
Good attention to detail
Excellent documentation and verbal skills
