We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our growing Structural Biology group, part of the Therapeutic Proteins department. This position is primarily focused on cryo-electron microscopy of molecules in Regeneron's drug development pipeline, including membrane proteins, large multi-protein assemblies, and antibody-target complexes. We hope you are excited by this collaborative opportunity to contribute to projects of real medical impact.
As a Senior Scientist in the Structural Biology group, a typical day might include:
Characterizing and purifying protein complexes, freezing grids, collecting cryoEM data
Conducting single-particle cryoEM map refinement, structure determination, and structure analysis
Conducting cryoET data collection, tomogram reconstruction and interpretation
Predicting protein features such as viscosity or aggregation propensity from large datasets
Meeting with colleagues from different departments across Research & Preclinical Development to discuss their projects and design insightful structural experiments
Presenting results to varying audiences
This role might be for you if you:
Are highly collaborative and can work well in groups of scientists from different fields
Have the ability to explain complex structural biology data to an audience of non-specialists, as well as the ability to rapidly absorb information from other fields such as immunology, oncology, or cell biology
Have excellent record-keeping and time management skills - you will be working on many different projects at the same time
In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a Ph.D. in Structural Biology or related field and 0-5 years of relevant experience or a BS/MS and 8-10 years of relevant experience. Must have experience in cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, or computational structural biology. Experience with protein purification and characterization is strongly preferred. Direct experience with membrane proteins will be an advantage. Must have a demonstrated track record of independent research including one or more first-author publications.
