Position Summary:
As a Senior Category Manager for Global Biologics Raw Materials , you will be part of a team of Senior Category Managers responsible for developing the global category strategy across our global manufacturing network.
As part of this strategy work you will identify and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize bioproduction raw materials expenditures, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with the organization's goals and objectives across multiple regions and business units. You will lead cross-functional teams, engage with key stakeholders, and leverage market insights to drive value and excellence in bioproduction raw materials procurement on a global scale.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for contract execution/management to support Bio-production Raw Materials & Technologies category strategy.
- Coordinating Supplier Risk Management & Value Beyond Savings initiatives for the category
- Lead Zoetis' Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Governance activities within Global Manufacturing & Supply Procurement
- Provides support to Biologics sites to improve supplier performance via a structured Supplier Relationship Management program
- Will provide support to Biologics sites to develop and execute innovative procurement solutions to continuously improve the value, quality and service received by Zoetis within the assigned spend areas
- Responsible for the tracking status between Global Manufacturing & Supply Procurement and Global Manufacturing Technology organisations on all Product Qualifications/Transfers and NPI's within the assigned spend areas
- Provide support to Biologics sites to develop and execute innovative procurement solutions to continuously improve the value, quality and service received by Zoetis within the assigned spend areas
- Development of category strategies for Bio-production raw materials and technologies within the assigned spend areas
- Updating Bio-production Category Strategies through benchmarking industry best practices , reviews of new technical developments and Zoetis future GMS needs.
- Negotiate contracts to support of the Global Category Strategies for Bio-Production raw materials & technologies.
- Develop and monitor contract management process ensuring timely execution of contracts and compliance to principal company guidelines.
- Supports supply risk modelling to proactively identify, eliminate or minimise any risks associated with Bio-production raw materials supply.
- Provides pricing guidance to the Biologic site procurement teams on global strategic vendors for annual budget preparation and New Product Introduction (NPI) as part of comprehensive Bio-production raw material supply strategies that deliver long term cost reduction and supply assurance.
- Supports the development of the Biologics raw material categories' Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program.
- Leads the phased implementation of SRM Governance Program inclusive of policies/procedures, training, templates and tracking metrics.
- Design, set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to accompany the SRM program to continuously improve third party performance and compliance with contracts.
- Coordinate and track continuous improvement, Value Beyond Savings, supplier performance, and project updates for the Biologics Platform procurement leadership team.
- Coordinate with Quality and Operations to ensure compliance with relevant Zoetis guidelines and policies.
- Support Global QA & EHS initiatives inclusive of ongoing modeling for Biologic Raw materials suppliers
- Coordinate with other functions and impacted stakeholders to assure timely implementation and compliance with the agreed to sourcing/project strategies.
- Continually evaluate and monitor market conditions to support sourcing strategies.
- Conduct annual reviews of site purchased and managed biologics raw materials to ensure compliance with global category strategies, contracts and supplier risk management policy.

To be considered for the role the following experience is important:
- Proven experience(5+ years) in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management roles, with a focus on BioProduction Raw materials within a global context.
- Deep understanding of the BioProduction Raw materials supply Industry including materials, technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements.
In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, evaluate supplier proposals, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong business acumen and proved ability to understand P&L execution and total cost drivers
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent financial understanding, with the ability to turn financial figures and terms into valuable business cases, utilizing terminology such as PPV, NPV, IRR, Pay back period, WACC, depreciations and amortizations, to gain commitment and endorsement from stakeholders.
- Excellent project management abilities, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, global environment.
Level of Education and Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science, in Chemistry/ Bio Chemistry / Molecular Biology / Chemical Engineering/ Procurement & Supply Chain .
- Advanced qualification including MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CIPS) is beneficial.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in procurement and sourcing tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite incl. ThinkCell.
- Experience with utilizing eAuction tools for maximizing competition within your portfolio will be an advantage.
- Previous experience using MS Power BI and SAP will be beneficial.
- Solid understanding of Bio-Production/ Bio- Pharma Technical and Regulaory requirements will be beneficial.
Working Relationships:
- Directly reports to Sr. Director, Biologics and APAC Procurement
- Peer To Peer working relationship with GMS Biologics Platform Site Procurement leads & Category Strategy Leads
- Strong working relationship with the GMS Site Leads, Quality, EHS, GMT and all functions that affect the supply base
- Working relationship with Bio-Production supply base and external enabling functions as required
Financial Accountability:
- Supporting Strategic Sourcing management of approximately US $200 million in annual spend
- Biologics Raw materials key materials within the Zoetis internal GMS network and Customer Supplied Materials into Contract Manufacturers
