When completed, the Amgen FleX Batch facility will combine the latest in disposable technologies with traditional stainless-steel equipment to allow for maximum flexibility in operations. The FleX Batch facility will not only feature the best in-class drug substance manufacturing technologies with embedded industry 4.0 capabilities, but it will also integrate sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste, as part of Amgen's plan to be a carbon-neutral company by 2027.
Senior Facilities Coordinator
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be part of the Facilities organization in the Facilities & Engineering team at Amgen's newest manufacturing site in North Carolina!
During Construction Phase:
- Support logistics and overall coordination within the department and with project team
- Ability to support end to end process for the creation of the Master Maintenance Packages including, but not limited to:
- Commissioning documentation
- Asset Creation / Preventive Maintenance Creation / Job plan creation and overall ownership of systems
- Day to day management of communication and any other tasks/projects assigned as per Facilities Sr. manager’s request.
- Collaborate with peers to streamline or construct Workflows/Business Practices
- Act as a liaison between various departments/collaborators by providing reports and data analysis.
- Be responsible for verifying analytical data and revising and/or auditing various documents.
- Ensure consistent and accurate reporting
- SharePoint portals, Smartsheet’s, and workflow design and management
- Conduct meetings and/or facilitate meetings.
- Create complex presentation materials and spreadsheets.
- Make recommendations and solutions to issues encountered and/or problem solve to address countermeasure when assigned
- Provide technical writing support for cross functional groups within the Facilities Services department and Facilities & Engineering organizations
- Manage workflows, prioritization schedule, and approval process for SOP development (CDOCS) as requested by Manager
- Support the team with Training Management
- Manage KPI Reporting for Facilities Team
- Collaborate with integrated facilities management team and craft groups to schedule maintenance activities as required to support site operations
- Support maintenance activities to allow efficient labor utilization of F&E crafts while minimizing the interruption to customer operations. Identify and coordinate contractor resources as needed to effectively complete tasks
- Assist with Procurement and Invoicing for the department
- Data verification of GMP information for pest control compliance
- Day to day management of communication and any other tasks/projects assigned as per manager’s request.

Basic Qualifications:
- High school/GED + 2 years Biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant, Mechanical Maintenance, Facilities/Utilities Operations, or Engineering experience or military experience OR
- Associate’s + 6 months Biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant, Mechanical Maintenance, Facilities/Utilities Operations, or Engineering experience or military experience OR
- Bachelor’s
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with regulated environments (i.e., cGMP, OSHA, EPA) including detailed understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices
- Strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal direction
- Demonstrated ability to function within cross-functional teams and embrace a team-based culture
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and various database querying tools
- Good understanding of CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP, Blue Mountain, ETC.)
- Familiar with Root Cause Analysis and LEAN methodology
- Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, organizational and planning skills
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to take on several projects at one time
- Strong customer service skills.
