As a Engineer Associate Injection Molding, you will be trusted to research, plan, design, develop, optimize and maintain injection molding processes. This includes part design, tooling, injection molding equipment, process optimization, and molded part measurement systems. Applies knowledge of injection molding principles to improve part design, specify tooling and molding equipment, optimize molding processes and trouble shoot injection molding processes. This will be an on-site position in our Johns Cree, GA location and a typical day will include:
- Developing, designing, installing, commissioning, qualifying, validating and optimizing complex and innovative injection molding equipment in compliance with Good Practice (GxP) procedures
- Development and optimization of new injection molding processes – new products, new materials, etc…
- Communicating and coordinating with internal/external vendors during the implementation, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Providing support as needed in generating required technical documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training manuals, and protocols per GxP guidelines
- Completing tasks efficiently and working together with other departments to achieve common and overarching project goals (e.g. landmark, budget, etc.)
- Executing engineering studies and DOEs, analyzing data and presenting results to the team
- Troubleshooting and correcting issues related to injection molding equipment and process
- Work independently and take initiative in developing creative solutions
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Injection Molding process
What You'll Bring To Alcon:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
