The role of the QC Planner is to provide quality with a plan of testing priorities that is in line with Supply requirements.
To track the progress of testing within the QC labs to support this planning process.
Input into the batch release process for all testing and lot closure requirements.
Tracking of issues and/or deviations in testing that will impact batch release timings.
- Provide QC with a list of priorities for release to support in-house production, raw material release and final product release. Communicate any issues that mean these priorities might not be met.
- Input into the daily batch release meeting, providing batch testing status updates for various stages of the process and taking new priorities back to QC for commitment
- Identify what batches are missing CMO CoT and chase up in line with the batch release priorities
- Escalate as required any misalignment to the required batch release plan
- Facilitate the daily QC meeting to track batch release status and flag any batches that are overdue or need to be fast tracked to support Supply Chain commitments
- Provide input for onsite meetings to visualise the status of the QC tracking process
- Provide an SRD testing plan in line with blending requirements and the expiry rules in place for specific materials
- Provide priorities for testing if any capacity constraints occur that cause the testing rhythm wheel not to be met.
- Provide updates to the Quality departments at Pre S&OP for future plans and testing requirements.
- Feedback any risks to the site S&OP meeting.
- Update QC closure dates in the campaign trackers to enable real time reporting of batch status.
- Provide lots closure dates that have been committed to as an output of the morning QC meeting.
- Evaluate the impact and, as necessary, escalate any issues or delays within QC
- Provide cover for other roles within the team to ensure full services are maintained at all times
- Ensure an appropriate level of training is maintained for cover of the QC planner role.
- Support the team with other duties as required
- Develop and maintain KPI reporting for QC schedule adherence
- Contribute to departmental/process improvements.
Experience Requirements
- Knowledge of QC testing and approval process
- Strong tracking and reporting skills
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving qualities
- Ability to determine when to escalate issues
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks.
- Sound understanding of GMP
