Your mission
The purpose of the job is to provide support to the Research and Development organisation at MeiraGTx. The role will report to the MSAT Analytical Development lead as the work will be predominantly analytical in nature. The role will encompass the organisation of the lab areas and execution of routine analytical testing to support the R&D teams such as Process development, Molecular development, and Preclinical research teams. This will include lab cleaning, and equipment calibration, stock materials and solution preparation, as well as performing analytical test methods using a variety of techniques across manual and automated platforms. Full training will be provided for all tasks.
Job Description
Major Activities
- Lab management tasks such as routine cleaning, re-stocking consumables and basic equipment calibration.
- Reagent and solution preparation in line with current practices to reduce down time or delays to on-going work.
- Precisely following experimental instructions and accurately recording information.
- Performing routine analytical test methods to support to the Research and Development organisation including manual and automated qPCR, ELISA, HPLC and cell culture methods.
- Working with computer programs such as excel to provide the experimental data back to the R&D teams.
- Be looking for improvements and ways to improve efficiency in the way the lab operates to improve quality and throughput.
Additional Activities- Provide support to the whole R&D department as needed.
- Be interested and involved to help ensure MeiraGTx stays at the leading edge of Gene Therapy science and technology.
Key Performance Indicators- Clean, tidy and safe laboratories that function well and in accordance with all procedure and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent time management and organization to ensure all tasks are completed, with a high quality of document and record keeping for tasks performed.
- Well executed, recorded and analysed testing according to lab protocols as scheduled. Full training will be provided.

Job background- GCSE / A-Level / BTEC / NVQ or Equivalent in a scientific field
- Organized, proactive and highly motivated
