Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.

The Rugged Fiber Optics (RFO) Operations Manager is accountable for all manufacturing areas across sites supporting the RFO portfolio, and is responsible for achievement of daily, weekly and monthly targets in terms of on-time-delivery, earned hours, lead time attainment, quality performance, inventory, and utilization of all manufacturing-based employees in a safe working environment. In this role you will integrate, develop and streamline processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long term planning, and positively contribute to the overall business strategy. You will drive excellence in key functions that support RFO production including, but not limited to: Safety, Quality, Supply Chain / Planning, and Engineering. You will also be responsible for supporting development of and delivering the long term RFO operations strategy to support growth of the business.
You will deliver significant improvements in the operational execution of a high-growth, Engineer-to-Order (ETO) portfolio by ensuring sufficient resources to support production, driving process stability and optimization, and enabling long term capacity and technology investments.
Responsibilities include:
• Preparing an annual operating plan across sites that is consistent with commercial and product management plans
• Driving Performance Management and key Human Resources goals in line with the BU and product group strategic priorities
• Providing ECE (excellent customer experience) and customer service, total quality and a positive employee environment.
• Driving Continuous Improvement in line with strategy (TEOA).
• Establishing and operating the plant in a safe, environmentally sound and prudent manner and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensuring that RFO production areas are maintained in accordance with the Operational and Manufacturing procedures and best practices within the Business Unit and host plants
• Drive production areas to operate in such a manner to optimize environmental conditions and best practices.
• Hire, train and lead the Operational and Manufacturing employees whilst balancing the activities and function of employees, according to business needs and growth.
• Establish and implement systems to log, track, trend and forecast essential parameters of operational technical and financial performance.
What your background should look like:
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years experience, with prior experience working as an Operational/Plant Leader; Master's degree preferred
- Experience in design or manufacture of fiber optics or other related electrical equipment or components
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure, effectively managing competing priorities with available resources.
- Experienced in leading and creating a high performing team.
- Accustomed to having full responsibility for P&L/site and overseeing key departments including Purchasing, Planning, Continuous Improvement (TEOA), Facilities, Manufacturing etc.
- Good knowledge of all business processes along the value chain, their interaction and impact on Operational results
- Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and CI (5S, Six Sigma, VST)
- Strong oral and written communications
- Project Management skills
- IT skills (SAP, MS, Office)
- Recommends best work practices and improvements; coaching employees to be the best version of themselves

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $160,100 - $240,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
