Job Description
We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead the safe operation, performance, and management of our CMT laboratory in Kalgoorlie, WA.
This full-time role focuses on ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and NATA accreditation, delivering exceptional customer service, fostering a collaborative team environment, and promoting staff development and succession planning.
The CMT Kalgoorlie laboratory is accredited with NATA ISO17025 in the fields of Soil, Concrete and Aggregate.
The laboratory conducts onsite NDM and concrete testing, onsite sampling of soils, concrete and aggregate.
Responsibilities includes but are not limited too:
- Oversee all laboratory operations
- Managing resources of staff and equipment to ensure clients receive timely test results for their projects
- Implement strategies that optimise operational effectiveness
- Conduct testing as required
- Actively engage with current and potential new customers
- Maintain effective communication with Management and provide timely, accurate reporting to the Business Manager
- Ensure technicians receive adequate and appropriately documented training and development in accordance with SGS and NATA requirements
- Ensure the laboratories adhere to quality standards and test results and reports are issued in accordance with ISO 17025
- Implement and drive key Lean tools (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban)
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you will bring:
- An Advanced Diploma in Laboratory Techniques
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 17025
- Proven experience as a Laboratory Manager or Supervisor
- Comprehensive knowledge of, and previous NATA signatory for soil AS1289 and MRWA test methods
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and drive teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and contractors at all levels
- A solid track record of understanding and meeting customer requirements
This position is based in Kalgoorlie WA. Seeking applicants who are able to relocate. An accommodation allowance will be included for the successful applicant.
