We are currently looking for an energetic, hard-working Sub-Assembly Operator to work on our Weekend night shift (Friday and Saturday from 23:00 - 11:00) at our Alliston facility. The following are dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, jumpsuit, hood, hairnet, beard cover, gloves, isolation mask and boots (additional PPE required when cleaning)

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting the following duties in the Sub-Assembly department. The Sub-Assembly Operator assumes the responsibility for operating membrane/blue-cap closure machines (3), injection site machines (2), recon machine (1) and CAPD machine (1). They are responsible for the Release of the product to the Kiefel Department and Twin Bag. (CAPD)
The membrane/blue-cap machines provide product to all Fill lines, The Recon machine provides product for Mini-Bags, the CAPD machine supplies Twin Bag.
Duties performed on a rotational basis
Operate and clean membrane/injection site, blue-cap closure machines, Recon machine and CAPD machine to meet or exceed daily accountability/ productivity requirements.
Load hopper of each machine with parts and packing finished product into totes
Ensure equipment is operating within parameters.
Observe operation to ensure machine are functioning according to specifications and make all necessary adjustments.
Perform and document ongoing QA checks to achieve quality product using JDE.
Perform all start up cleaning and checks – Oven test and pressure test for membrane machine. CAPD requires QA check every 2 hrs.
Material Handling: Obtain raw materials from staging areas to prepare for shift production.
Order materials when needed.
Constant visual check to assure that all machines are performing properly and product is being supplied.
Perform minor mechanical adjustments as required. (i.e. changing shrink band, changing pins)
Partner with maintenance when major repairs are required (i.e. sealing pin damage)
Support EMS implementation which includes maintaining the department in 6S condition, tracking production, identifying root cause and counter measures and participating in the IDEAS program.
Duties performed on a continual or intermittent basis
- Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
What You'll Bring
High school diploma/GED.
Flexibility to work overtime as required.
Experience in Trouble shooting mechanical problems.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Experience in working effectively both independently, and as part of a team.
Proven ability to be proactive and self-motivated on the job
Must have the ability to comprehend Baxter Specifications / SOP’s and determine appropriate corrective actions.
