We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer, Projects (Development Engineering) to join our R&D Engineering team in Witney.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to collaborate with design, electrical, and controls engineers within the Development Engineering group of R&D. This position will see you designing the Research and Development manufacturing equipment, capable of producing the latest Abbott Diabetes Care sensors whilst also contributing to the design of those future Abbott Diabetes Care sensors.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on the latest Abbott Diabetes Care products with a focus on invention, design & realisation of the equipment that manufactures them.
Mechanical design of manufacturing equipment incorporating novel technologies, inspection systems, and control systems.
- Support and Documentation:
Generate comprehensive technical files, follow regulatory requirements outlined by the machinery directive. Assist in commissioning, characterisation, and optimisation of the equipment.
Lead a small team, overseeing daily activities and providing developmental guidance and line management.
ABOUT YOU:
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Proven track record in automated equipment design, both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in 3D modelling (AutoDESK Inventor most favourable) and a drawing management system.
Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualifications (HNC/HND) with progressive work experience.
Experience in leading projects and small teams of engineers.
Experience in regulated environments is favourable.

World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system.
