About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated R&D software engineer. The successful candidate will participate in the design and development of medical device software. Be a part of Boston Scientific's Coronary Therapies R&D team to develop innovative products that sustain and improve the lives of patients around the world. You will use your technical and collaboration skills alongside your passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement to solve customer issues, improve our teams’ responsiveness and help guide our future development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Investigates field complaints, performs in-depth issue debugging, and recommends corrective actions, including finding workarounds and solutions to complex problems.
- Provides passionate support for issue resolution, assisting field support engineers by replicating issues in test environments and working towards efficient solutions.
- Implements software fixes for corrective actions in our clinical and training applications and follows our quality process to document corrective actions.
- Works cross-functionally to coordinate, develop, and communicate project schedules and refine project scope.
- Participates in reviews of design, code and documentation.
- Authors and maintains documentation of software development activities according to the Quality System.
- Tracks software development effort by creating and maintaining records in the approved software version control system.
- Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Software Development in Medical Device Industry
- At least 2 years of experience with C# and Visual Studio
- Passion for troubleshooting and ensuring high quality products
Preferred qualifications:
- Designing and implementing software using C# and WPF
- Windows operating system configuration and management
- Knowledge of IEC 62304
- High level knowledge of DICOM and PACS servers
- Ability to debug electronics, firmware and software to help with investigations and testing to replicate and resolve issues.
