About the role:
Our team in Maple Grove, MN, is looking for an Industrial Engineer II to join our team! Industrial Engineers at Boston Scientific play a key role in advancing lean practices and continuous improvement by developing innovative solutions to eliminate waste and maximize value for our customers. This role works cross-functionally across the plant, focusing on waste elimination and improving product, material, and information flow throughout commercial production, new product development, and administrative business processes.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Leading and driving improvement projects using DMAIC, and PDCA methodologies, with a focus on delivering measurable Value Improvement Process (VIP) savings for our customers and manufacturing lines.

Establishing and maintaining engineering (labor) standards for product costing, including year-over-year labor optimization projects.

Conducting time studies and data analysis to balance work content and staffing effectively across manufacturing lines.

Coordinating and lead cross-functional teams to design workstations and line layouts that reduce work content, enhance line flow, and optimize space utilization.

Facilitating Kaizen events focusing on improving quality, cost efficiency, delivery, and safety within production and business processes.

Leading Lean training sessions and mentoring employees across all levels in the organization in Lean concepts and best practices.

Promoting a culture of lean thinking and operational excellence across the site.

Managing and continuously improving critical tools such as Work Content Graphs, Standard Work, Visual Staffing Plans, Value Stream Mapping, and Continuous Improvement Systems.

Actively seeking out new technical knowledge and best practices through benchmarking and educational opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field

2+ years of engineering experience

Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean Principles, Systems, and Tools

Experience with capacity analysis, problem solving and resource optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Background in medical device manufacturing or a similar field

Knowledge of Power BI/Tableau for data analysis and visualization

Experience with simulation software such as Arena, Simulate, or FlexSim
-
Six Sigma and/or Project Management certification(s)

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
