Technician ll, Boiler Operator
Job Summary
Manufacturing facility in need of a licensed, black seal high pressure boiler operator who will be responsible for maintaining and operating boiler and related equipment The operator will be required to adjust the equipment as needed and be able to perform repairs when necessary. Also, must be able to use a variety of tools to be able to perform routine maintenance on the systems and equipment. Please include all relevant certifications and licenses (i.e., HAZWOPER, NASSCO, OSHA, Confined Space Entry) as well as any relevant experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform preventative, Predictive, and operating maintenance of black utilities, (i.e., boilers, chillers, generators, waste treatment), clean utilities, (i.e., clean steam, deionized (DI) and Water for Injection (WFI)) and related equipment including safety valves, regulators, steam traps, automatic control mechanisms, water columns, pumps, chemical feeders, burners etc.
- Strict adherence to all safety related policies, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to follow Job Plans (JPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Complies with all state regulations regarding operation, safety and repair of all Boiler and associated auxiliary facility equipment.
- Be able to repair & maintain machinery and mechanical equipment throughout the facility.
- Effectively & safely operate and maintain general manufacturing equipment.
- Be proficient with using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments on a daily basis.
- Operate natural gas fired boilers to generate steam that supplies heat for buildings or industrial processes.
- Maintain all readings concerning boiler and chill water system operation from meters, micro-processors, pressure gauges, thermometers, and flow charts for monthly & maintenance reports.
- Performs maintenance activities required by law, such as boiler preparation for annual inspections etc.
- Actively troubleshoot utility systems during unplanned shutdowns, with the goal to minimize equipment downtime
- Network and work closely with other members of maintenance team on all related utilities.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the utility room.
Requirements
- 3+ year’s experience in the maintenance of large steam boilers and refrigeration equipment
- Must have a black seal high pressure license
- High school diploma or general education degree
- 3rd Class refrigeration license a big plus
