Abbott Diagnostics
As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the Diagnostics (“Core Lab”) business and continued commitment to manufacturing at our European sites, we now have an opportunity for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our global Division Engineering team, working with our cGMP manufacturing sites and suppliers/partners in Ireland and across Europe.
THE ROLE:
- Design and integrate control system software for automated machines including PLCs, Robotics, HMI, SCADA, Vision
- Develop, test, commission & support machine control software
- Support our Technical Validation team in creating validation documentation required for regulated industries (URS, FDS, SDS, FAT, etc)
- Specification of control system components
- Collaborate closely within a multi-disciplinary project team throughout an entire project life cycle
- Provide technical direction & support to other controls team members at our manufacturing sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
- PLC & HMI experience essential, preferably with Allen Bradley, Siemens.
- Expert knowledge of automated machine design, specification & development
- Proven experience with robotics, motion control, machine vision, pneumatics etc
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- A quality minded outlook and a problem-solving attitude
- Needs to work well in a multifunctional team
