Just is seeking a motivated and creative scientist who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. As a downstream scientist, you will join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team to develop and operate purification processes for low-cost biotherapeutic manufacturing. Process design at Just-Evotec means exposure to innovative technologies like continuous processing technologies for a first-of-its-kind flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will have experience in single-use and aseptic technologies as well chromatography and filtration theory and operations. Experience with multicolumn chromatography and/or process modeling is a plus. The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communications skills, works well independently and in teams, and continually looks for ways to improve processes and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Develop purification processes for biotherapeutics manufacturing
- Transfer processes to clinical and commercial manufacturing facilities
- Technology development to reduce the cost and improve the efficiency of purification processes
Position Requirements:
- BS or MS degree in Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field and 5+ years of experience or Ph.D.
- Knowledgeable in chromatography and filtration theory, downstream development strategy, and process scale-up/transfer
- Experience with chromatography operations, including operating AKTA systems
- Experience with filtration operation, including executing bench-scale dead-end filtration, viral filtration, UF/DF, and depth filtration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and analysis using statistical software packages (JMP, MATLAB, etc.)
- Experience with multi column chromatography
- Experience with continuous and connected processing
- Experience with process modeling
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $90,000 to $110,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
