Position Summary
The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discover, develop and deploy coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provide new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

We are currently looking for a Process Modelling Intern in the digital & automation unit. You will join a team of process modelling specialists and collaborate with aroma process experts to support R&D developments. This position involves working on models for the aroma process and making them available through a web-platform.

A Day in the Life of a Process Modelling Intern
- Read scientific literature and internal reports to formulate best hypotheses and find data to validate the model developments
- Formulate equations to model the process and implement them in the simulation software
- Produce simulation results and present them to discuss the model hypotheses with colleagues
- Engage with process specialists and pilot plant operators to understand the key process principles
- Develop a web-based tool user interface for the developed model
- Engage with process experts and non-experts to understand their need for the web-based tool
- Interact with potential users of the tool, share beta versions, collect their feedback
- Evolve the web-based tool considering feedback from beta users
What will make you successful
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering
- Industrial experience in process modelling & digitalization is a plus
- Ideally, previous exposure to R&D activities including process development, trials, data collection, and model validation
- Strong knowledge of heat and mass transfer fundamentals applied to steady-state and batch processes
- Understanding of Vapor Liquid Equilibrium
- Curious mindset with a sense of autonomy
- Familiarity with Process Modelling simulation tools such as Aspen, PRO II, gPROMS, Modelica, etc.
- Strong programming skills, with knowledge in Python being an advantage
- Fluent in English, with French language skills being a strong asset
