Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Chemical Engineer to join our chemical plant team. The Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing chemical manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and safe production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design and Optimization:
- Develop, configure, and optimize chemical processes from inception through to start-up.
- Conduct process simulations and design experiments to ensure efficient and effective production methods.
- Assess processes, take measurements, and interpret data to identify areas for improvement.
- Production Support:
- Provide technical support to the production team to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Evaluates OAU (operational asset utilization) data and generates specific reports that identify production performance improvement opportunities to be pursued by other work processes.
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot problems associated with chemical manufacturing processes and resolve issues promptly.
- Responsible for updating documentations according to project and/or process improvement result.
- Responsible for site MOC-PC initiatives, act as site MOC initiator
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving chemical processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure quality.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
- Experience in process safety management and risk management.
- Good team player, self-motivated with good communication and influencing skills.
- Good command of oral and written English, be able to deliver presentation and participate telecons in English environment.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in a production engineering role within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Experience Process safety and Energy /mass balance preparation, Optimization.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in chemical engineering.
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
