· Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
· Proven experience in hermetics & plating processes, preferably in a manufacturing environment with hermetics processing experience.
· Strong technical knowledge of glass forming, glass sealing, electroplating, electroless plating, and related surface finishing techniques.
· Familiarity with hermetics glass sealing processes and equipment, plating equipment, including tanks, rectifiers, filters, and controllers, etc..
· Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools for process optimization.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines, strong emphasis on documentation for ease of understanding.
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to plating operations.
1. Process Optimization: Develop and optimize plating processes to enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce waste. Continuously improve process parameters, cycle times, and yields.
2. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that plated products meet industry standards and customer requirements. Conduct regular inspections, testing, and analysis to identify and address quality issues.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of plating equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.
4. Material Selection: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select appropriate plating materials based on product specifications and performance requirements. Evaluate alternative materials and surface finishing techniques to enhance product functionality and durability.
5. Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process improvements, material selection, and waste minimization. Analyze production data and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols related to plating processes. Implement best practices to minimize environmental impact and ensure a safe working environment for employees.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of plating processes, including process parameters, material usage, quality inspections, and production metrics. Generate reports and provide regular updates to management on key performance indicators.
8. Training and Development: Train production personnel on proper plating techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards. Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
