Summary
Arcadis DPS Group is looking for an experienced Commissioning Coordinator to join our team in Portland, OR area in support of a major semiconductor construction project for a leading Confidential Client. This person will have previous experience in wet and dry mechanical equipment, process systems and associated utilities. This individual will need to ensure all documentation is in place and pre-approved, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors ensuring all documentation and tests packages are submitted and signed off. The Commissioning Coordinator will also need to be able to write Functional Acceptance Tests for equipment and systems including but not limited to: Cooling Towers, Chillers, Scrubbed Exhaust Systems, Boilers, Process Vac, MAH and RAH units, Chilled Water Systems, etc.
Responsibilities
- To manage and coordinate, in liaison with the project and discipline leads, all testing and commissioning works including interfaces with Client and other contractors on site.
- Witness and verify Contractor mechanical completion & pre-commissioning activities.
- Be proactive in the verification of construction completeness and escalate as necessary through the appropriate channels any commissioning impacts.
- Participate as necessary in Design Verification checklists and escalate as necessary through the appropriate channels any work that is not design or spec compliant.
- Manage and coordinate the Mechanical commissioning team including the sub-contractor and vendor where applicable.
- Provide technical support and guidance to sub-contractors on the work site to ensure Operational Acceptance Tests are carried out to the appropriate standard.
- Develop commissioning installation and pre-functional equipment checklists.
- Create Functional Acceptance Test Documents in line with the design specification of the equipment.
- Generate system level Functional Test Documents in line with Design specifications and Sequence of Operations documents (SOO).
- Carry out hands-on dynamic system commissioning.
- Participate and lead risk assessments for the Commissioning Team.
- Ensure that EHS procedures are properly implemented and monitored.
- Coordination of commissioning process with owner, contractors and equipment suppliers.
Skills and Qualifications
- BS Engineering or Construction preferred, focused in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline ideal. Vocational training and/or significant work experience directly related to the role will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Must have a proven track record in a site-based or project-based commissioning environment.
- Must have hands-on commissioning and equipment start-up experience.
- Must have experience with installing, testing, and maintaining equipment.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to interface with other disciplines to achieve a fully integrated and functional system.
