Receiving Quality Assurance Technician I/Indirect
Work hours will be 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision from the Quality Engineering Manager, performs timely and accurate work on a range of manual inspections, First Article inspections and science projects in compliance with the Company and external regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs a range of standardized/routine inspections raw materials and parts using standard tools.
- Maintains and accurately follows protocols, procedures, and records inspection data.
- Performs standard tests/inspections and assists engineers, designers, or scientists in the simple design and building of tests protocols, test fixtures, prototypes, etc. commensurate with experience level.
- Assists senior level technicians and engineers in manufacturing projects.
- Completes product performance audits and qualification studies.
- Inspects production raw materials.
- Conducts first article inspections.
- Pulls samples for inspection.
- Performs inspection sampling and maintains inspection records/documentation.
- Inspects samples to avoid nonconforming parts from reaching the production floor.
- Creates Non Conformance Records on non conforming product.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to drive a forklift or the ability to obtain a forklift license preferred.
- Requires the ability to work overtime to meet business needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Two year technical degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
- Course work in the following is preferred:
- Lab Sciences: math, chemistry, metrology, biology, physics, hematology, physiology, anatomy or related sciences.
- Equipment Development: hydraulics, electronics, mechanics, or related fields.
- Manufacturing Process: statistics, math or related engineering sciences.
- Software Development: electronics, computer programming or related fields.
- Data Entry/Analysis: math, physics, software or related sciences and/or fields.
- Possesses fundamental understanding of fluid flow and flow properties.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience.
- Practical experience with extrusion, molding and inspection of plastic parts preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Proven good problem solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of technical principles in assigned areas.
- Skills to understand and apply guidelines.
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements and committed to continually learning and improving knowledge.
- Use of metrology tools including pin gauges, calipers, surface plate tools, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and optical comparators.
- Possesses a basic understanding of blood and blood components.
- Requires ability to read component specifications (drawings).
- Requires ability to read and understand inspection plans.
- Proficient in using manual inspection equipment: Calipers, Indicators, Micrometers.
- Working knowledge of: Smart Scopes, Comparator
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- ASQ professional certification.
- Ability to obtain Certification for Quality Technician (CQT) and/or Certification for Mechanical Inspector (CMI).

An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manufacturing Environment requirements include: use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.
- Must be able to work in a clean room environment, adhere to associated policies, and perform gowning of clean room attire in the allotted time prior to start up.
- Must be able to safely work in a warehouse environment, employing safe practices around forklifts and pallet jacks
- Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts or mechanized equipment.
- Requires good manual dexterity and visual acuity including ability to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to maintain pace with the assembly line.
- Requires the ability to regularly perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to work under florescent lighting.
- Requires the ability to bond using repetitive moderate force gripping.
- Requires the ability to sit or stand through the duration of a shift.

Target Pay Range: $21.00 to $27.00 - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
