The Opportunity
Our location in Maple Grove, MN or Santa Clara, CA currently has an on-site opportunity for a Project Specialist, Diversity in Research professional. This new team member will manage all aspects of Abbott’s Clinical Trial Diversity projects, ensuring on-time and within budget completion. This role will support the operational arm of the Diversity in Research (DIR) Office.
What You’ll Work On
- Support the operational arm of the Diversity in Research Office, taking on operational responsibility.
- Partner with DIR office Co-leads to design, communicate, and implement operational plans for projects supporting Abbott’s Clinical Trial Diversity approach across the portfolio.
- Support communication and outreach efforts in partnership with corporate public affairs.
- Monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
- Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
- Communicate project status be preparing standard status reports and participating in departmental and project status update meetings.
- Resolve project issues by working with team members, project customers, and others as appropriate.
- Cultivate a wide range of internal networks and develops an extensive network of resources to facilitate task completion.
- Support external DEI initiates as decided by Abbott.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years’ Related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.
- Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures.
- General understanding of business unit/group function.
- Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.;
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Has a broad knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model. Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Ability to identify, solve problems, and work independently with little oversight.

$57,300.00 – $114,700.00
