Process Development Sr. Scientist - Drug Substance
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will join the Drug Substance Cell Sciences and Engineering Laboratory team to provide critical support to our manufacturing plants. You will contribute to process improvement, investigations and technology transfers, among many other exciting projects.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Designs, monitors, or conducts experimental strategies with mentorship from the supervisor and provides data analysis, interpretation, and impact assessment on projects.
- Keeps current in scientific expertise, monitoring relevant literature and technology developments, and communicating observations.
- Develops and implements new scientific methods and protocols to address project needs and serves as a technical resource within the department.
- Represents the department on project teams and initiates productive collaborations within and outside the company.
- Leads or assists in experimental design, data interpretation, and implementation of innovative solutions, and independently authors scientific reports, regulatory documents, and invention disclosures.
- Contributes to internal presentations and external publications or scientific conferences; participates in the external scientific community and improves knowledge through attending conferences.
- May lead department-wide initiatives, such as safety programs, recruiting, and committee participation, and develop supervisory and mentoring skills.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Or
Master’s degree and 3 years of Scientific experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational background in Life Sciences or Engineering, with experience in regulated industries and an understanding of cGMPs.
- Advanced technical knowledge and laboratory skills, including scientific analysis, statistical analysis, troubleshooting, and creative experiment design.
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and empower teams, coupled with project management experience, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and effectively communicate across departments.
- Proficient English and Spanish communication skills (written and verbal), including technical writing capabilities.
- Experience in non-conformance investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Statistical Analysis Software).
- Flexibility to manage change and support non-standard shifts as per business needs.
