Your role and responsibilities
Regional Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), Americas positions offered by ABB Inc. (Warminster, PA). Drives the supplier qualification process and ensures the supply base is and remains fully qualified and compliant. Coordinate with vendors regarding purchasing, warehousing, distribution, and financial forecasting for ABB supply chain processes. Schedules, monitors and approves supplier part, material and service qualification activities, e.g. Process Planning and Readiness Preparation (PPRP), Supplier Product Qualification Process (SPQP), capacity analysis, and verification in accordance with ABB project timing and milestones. Analyze existing vendor contracts and ABB procedures and provide solutions to limit costs, enhance safety, and streamline supply chain processes. Ensures supplier is in compliance with ABB Supplier Code of Conduct, ethics and corporate governance, ABB standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Plans and conducts, or ensures, supplier assessments (e.g. potential, scheduled, special), including assessment reporting and findings (major, minor or opportunities for improvement). Verifies effective closure of assessment findings, by the supplier.
Qualifications for the role
- Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field and 8 years of experience in the position offered or 8 years of experience working with international stakeholders and suppliers. Also requires 5 years of experience: applying measurement and analytics to manufacturing processes and products; using SAP ERP; and performing quality and supply chain engineering; and using strategic sourcing, supplier management, project management, operational purchasing and procurement tools. Also requires 1 year of experience: performing manufacturing and quality control including performing root cause analysis and resolving issues and using Ariba system modules including sourcing, contracts, and supplier management; and performing supplier auditing. Also requires Six Sigma Green Belt and the following quality certifications: Understanding and Implementing APQP with PPAP, Understanding IATF 16949:2016, and Taking Effective Corrective Action: Using the 8-D Approach. Position reports to Warminster, PA office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
