Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable, enthusiastic and motivated research associate to assist in the expression of recombinant proteins using both molecular biology and mammalian tissue culture as part of the core protein expression and purification group. This person will play a critical role in supporting preclinical efforts in developing novel antibody-based therapeutics.
Principal Responsibilities
- Expression of recombinant proteins, including antigens and antibodies via mammalian cell culture.
- DNA preparation and vector assembly using standard molecular biology techniques.
- Documentation and tracking of reagents and requests via ELN and LIMS system
- Data analysis, report generation and presentation of results
- Works with expression peers to fulfill protein reagent requests for Research
- General lab support as necessary (eg. Buffer prep, Inventory resupply, ect.)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree and 2-5 years lab experience in an academic and/or industry environment or equivalent
- Protein production via transient transfection
- Sterile technique for mammalian cell cultures
- Experienced in balancing workload and changing priorities
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational and written/oral communication skills
- Ability to perform routine tasks independently, more advanced tasks under direction and complete work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-5 years of protein expression experience
- Transient transfection with Expi293 and/or ExpiCHO cells
- Design and implementation of media optimization experiments
- Protein expression using small volume plate based techniques
- Experience using Hamilton or Tecan robotics platform
- Protein quantitation using BLI or other methods
- Tracking inventory and/or requests through computer systems
- Basic knowledge of antibody structure and biochemistry

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
