Electronic Specialty Gases (ESG) is a focused product line within the larger Air Liquide Electronics (ALE) organization that specializes in providing a diverse portfolio of highly purified specialty gases to our customers. The ESG product line is poised for strong growth over the coming years as leading semiconductor companies are making multi-billion dollar investments to expand manufacturing capacity in the United States and globally. The Morrisville PA plant is expanding its chemical process engineering and technical team to ensure it is well poised for these growth opportunities.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
This role will provide process engineering expertise and leadership for Air Liquide Electronics Specialty Gas (ESG) operations, focusing on process safety management initiatives. The successful candidate will be working closely with the process engineering team, site operations leadership, and the risk management department to drive process safety management activities within ESG Operations. You will be part of a high performing team critical to the ongoing success and growth of the ESG business.
Ensure Site Process Safety Information (PSI) is Complete and Up to Date
Develop and implement a standard template and procedure for documenting and storing PSI
Drive gap closure in PSI documentation for existing PSM processes through individual contribution and in collaboration with plant operations, process engineering, project engineering and maintenance. Eg P&ID's, interlock tables, consequences of deviation and actions to prevent or correct, equipment sizing etc
Verify that PSI documentation is updated from MOC reviews and work with initiators to address gaps. Participate in pre-startup safety reviews to ensure that pre- and post- process safety related actions, including PSI related ones, are completed.
Work with project engineering team to ensure that PSI is identified, generated and documented for capital projects PSM and other hazardous processes
Provide training to plant personnel as needed on PSI access and usage.
Support Process Hazard Analysis Reviews
Support PHA facilitators to ensure all necessary documentation is compiled and preparation is done for capital project PHA's and PHA revalidations (eg list of site incidents and near misses, list of MOC's, PSI, P&ID's, node creation)
Actively participate in risk reviews (PHA, LOPA) for revalidation and capital projects
Participate in capital project design reviews to ensure that PHA recommendations and action items are reconciled
Facilitate KPI reviews with site leadership to track PHA revalidation schedules and PHA closure and any recommendations/action items.
Facilitate reviews with stakeholders and site leadership on closure of PHA revalidation recommendations/action items.
Work with site leadership to help ensure the required participants attend PHAs.
Implement Improved Process Safety Related Procedures
Verify that operating procedures are accurate and updated for PSM covered processes. Provide tracking on SOP gap closure
Support the implementation of new and improved site specific PSM related procedures and standards. Ensure that all changes are communicated to the affected site stakeholders and facilitate trainings if necessary
Support effective implementation and update of Air Liquide Elements Important for Safety (EIS).
Drive Improvements to Process Safety via Effective Incident Investigations
Lead and/or participate in investigations for process safety incidents and near misses
Participate in the generation of corrective actions and recommendations
Generate final investigation report and action item lists where applicable. Provide communication on key lessons learned from investigation.
Track and drive the status of corrective action implementation
Actively Network and Benchmark to Help Guide PSM Improvements
Network with NAM AL corporate risk management team to support plant alignment with corporate process risk management plan.
Participate in internal PSM audits and support as required on PHA and PSI related findings.
Network with other global process safety experts within Air Liquide as well as outside Air Liquide to benchmark process safety best practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in chemical or related field with a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
2+ years previous experience in process, production, and/or project engineering is preferred
Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facility is preferred
Familiarity with OSHA PSM (29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA RMP (40 CFR part 68)
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multitask
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and continuously changing priorities
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Knowledge of root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why. TapRoot is a plus
Ability to be on call for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
The Salary rate range for this position in Pennsylvania is $100,000.00 to $105,000.00
