JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Advanced Process Control Engineer to join our regional engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process control engineering, with a focus on advanced process control (APC) strategies, implementation, optimization, and plant process operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement advanced process control strategies to optimize plant operations and improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Collaborate with process engineers, operators, external vendors and other stakeholders to identify process control opportunities and challenges.
- Design, configure, and implement advanced operational technology applications, including model predictive control (MPC), inferential sensors, and real-time process anomaly detection.
- Lead and manage advanced operational technology projects from concept to completion, including project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
- Monitor the performance of APC systems, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to achieve optimal process performance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for APC-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing expert guidance.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in APC technologies and methodologies and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
- 5 – 10 years of experience in advanced process control, with a proven track record of successful APC system implementation and optimization.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing process operations as process control engineer or process engineer.
- Strong knowledge of plant process engineering, process control theory, modeling, and simulation techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex control issues.
- Familiarity with advanced data analytics, machine learning, and digital transformation technologies and their applications in manufacturing process domain.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
