Head of Collaborations and Clinical Affairs, Ultrasound Business. We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Head of Collaborations and Clinical Affairs. This role will be responsible for driving global clinical strategies, scientific collaborations, and partnerships with key customers and institutions to support the Ultrasound business unit’s growth. This function will ensure the clinical adoption and validation of our existing products, as well as explore novel uses and indications for our ultrasound technologies. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with product management, R&D, medical affairs, regulatory, and commercial teams to generate compelling clinical evidence and position Siemens Healthineers as a leader in ultrasound solutions.
This role offers the opportunity to significantly shape the clinical direction of a leading ultrasound business, working at the forefront of clinical innovation and technology adoption. This role reports to the Head of the Interventional Ultrasound organization.
Your role:
- Develop and implement the global clinical evidence generation strategy, focusing on advancing the adoption of Siemens Healthineers ultrasound products and technologies through robust clinical validation and outcomes data.
- Establish and nurture strong collaborative relationships with leading clinicians, academic institutions, and healthcare organizations globally. Drive joint research initiatives and clinical studies that expand the clinical applications and indications of ultrasound.
- Oversee the design and execution of clinical studies, ensuring alignment with product development priorities, regulatory requirements, and business needs. Drive the generation of high-quality scientific publications and presentations to highlight clinical value and innovation.
- Manage and direct clinical trial operations, including protocol design, investigator selection, trial management, and data analysis. Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory and ethical standards.
- Drive research and validation of novel clinical applications and indications for existing and new ultrasound technologies, demonstrating new value propositions to clinicians and expanding the utility of ultrasound solutions in clinical practice.
- Build and maintain strategic clinical partnerships with key customers to facilitate technology evaluations, real-world evidence generation, and co-development opportunities that drive product adoption and clinical validation.
- Partner with Product Management, R&D, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Marketing teams to align clinical strategies with product roadmaps and commercialization plans. Work closely with the Physician Relations team to engage clinical thought leaders, ensuring clinical insights and evidence are incorporated into product development and go-to-market activities.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing strategy team, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
Your expertise:
- Strategic thinking with a focus on clinical innovation and impact.
- Ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for advancing healthcare through clinical science.
Required skills to have for the success in this role:
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Medical, or Clinical field (e.g., MD, PhD, or equivalent) required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical research or scientific affairs, preferably within the medical device or imaging industry.
- Strong background in ultrasound technologies and their clinical applications is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in leading global clinical collaborations and partnerships.
- Deep knowledge of clinical trial design, evidence generation, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex clinical data to diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing clinical teams and cross-functional project groups.
- The ability to be based in either the Issaquah, WA or Palo Alto, CA location.
- The ability to travel 30-50% of the time and globally required.

The pay range for this position is $225,000 - $280,000 U.S. dollars annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as where the work will be performed. The annual incentive target is 30% of base pay. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
