Position Summary
The BMS Translational Medicine Research Team is seeking a motivated and inquisitive researcher to intern with our group. Our team seeks to enhance the BMS pipeline through focused, multi-disciplinary, hypothesis-driven investigation into causal human biology by using human specimens and preclinical models to understand asset mechanisms of action and above-asset disease biology in order to inform early and late clinical drug development.
The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with BMS translational scientists and participate in internal scientific meetings. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about our asset programs and our technology platforms, conduct literature reviews, and design an experiment leveraging our multiomic datasets. Individuals with strong experimental competency, who are detail oriented, and have excellent organizational skills will thrive in this collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with team leads to learn about an asset program and technology platforms used in the group
- Conduct relevant literature reviews and summarize for the team
- With supervision, define a research hypothesis and test experimentally using existing datasets and/or participate in novel data generation
- Present research findings to the team and cross functional leaders as part of the BMS Internship Program
Qualifications & Experience
- BS candidate with relevant coursework and background in a life sciences discipline.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory research in biological sciences or biochemistry.
- Experience with experimental data and techniques related to genomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and/or histology is highly desirable.
- Must be organized and able to work well in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
