Civil Engineer - Pharmaceuticals - Germany - 12-Month Contract
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global pharmaceutical client based in the surroundings of Germany. Due to a large capital investment and multiple projects on site, the client is looking for a Civil Engineer to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Assessment: Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate suitability for construction, including soil conditions, topography, and existing infrastructure.
- Site Preparation: Develop plans for site preparation activities such as grading, excavation, and utility installation.
- Infrastructure Design: Design and oversee the construction of all civil infrastructure elements, including roads, parking areas, stormwater drainage systems, and utilities (water, sewer, and electrical).
- Foundation Design: Design foundations for buildings and other structures based on soil conditions and load requirements.
- Permitting: Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies for construction activities.
- Construction Management: Provide on-site oversight of civil engineering work, ensuring compliance with design plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates for civil engineering work and manage the project budget.
- Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
- Sustainability: Incorporate sustainable design principles into the project, such as energy efficiency and water conservation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering license (PE)
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and construction practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant design software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with LEED or other green building certification programs
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, GMP)
- Experience with complex site development projects
