We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, hardworking people to join Alcon! As a Manufacturing Associate II at our manufacturing site, you will be trusted with operating and maintaining highly automated equipment for manufacturing contact lenses in Johns Creek, GA.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Working with cross-functional teams to coordinate repair and improvement activities during unplanned downtime
Balancing the workload of associates and interacting with production equipment
Working with equipment and machinery such as setting up, adjusting, examining, and operating machines
Troubleshooting and conducting maintenance on equipment to include preventative maintenance and basic (low voltage) electrical/mechanical repairs
Actively participating in high-performance manufacturing teams to address day-to-day technical process issues focusing on improving the technical proficiency of all members of the team
Evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting data to make effective decisions using the standard work format
Supervising equipment for safe performance and addressing any unsafe acts or conditions on time while performing with the team and advising operations to the area of responsibility
Verifying downtime entries in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to ensure accuracy and accurate documentation
Conducting thorough verification of lot changes to maintain consistency and traceability in production
Being responsible for SPC verification and managing sample pulls to ensure compliance with quality standards
Participating in and facilitating meetings and crossovers to ensure effective communication and coordination across teams
Tracking and supervising weekly activities to ensure alignment with production plans and objectives
Supervising Genie and heat map actions to identify and address potential issues promptly
Preparing and reporting on Critical Performance Metrics (CPM) to supervise and improve operational performance
Raising resource issues related to underperformance to ensure timely resolution and maintain productivity
Must be able to work in a team environment, ensuring the vital quality decisions required to produce the highest quality product within a targeted cost, and be able to articulate issues to leadership or Electro-Mechanics
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, and every other weekend)
