Summary of Responsibilities
We need an upbeat, hard-working Via Pack In-Process Checker for our Midnight shift at our Alliston facility. Full-time permanent position. Starting wage: $28.85/hour.
The Via Pack In-Process Checker regularly performs the duties of a Record Keeper and Material Handler Operator. You will conduct and detail all necessary Viaflex Packing In-process checks, tests, and communicate the results to production as needed. Additionally, you will generate reports that outline all production-related data for the Packing lines. Keeping records of absenteeism, time, and vacation for the department is also part of this role. In the absence of Department Supervisors, this position provides backup support.
Due to the nature of our business, Baxter follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) which requires our employees to focus on cleanliness and contamination control. Other aspects of GMP that must be observed are no makeup or jewelry in the production areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply the necessary paperwork and keep records of absenteeism, hours, and vacation for the department. Schedule batch changes. Use the following computer systems: Kronos/AS400 and EBR.
- Perform Quality checks and record in EBR.
- Remove samples from trucks and collect final physicals.
- Record all discards by classification for each batch and return acceptable bags to the line.
- Report high discard rates to the Department responsible.
- Recount all discards and cartons packed if batch units do not balance to zero.
- Schedule batch changes including carton size change for Happiness Operator.
- Perform batch changes including line clearance and EBR entries.
- Fill in reconciliation on the shop floor sheet and then enter it into the computer.
- Scan and release Direction sheets to the line as required.
- Prepare all production documents.
- Post accurate data (code, lot expiration date) on batch boards at the start of each batch.
- Record all labor transfer and time sheets and submit daily reports to the accounting department.
- Perform Packing operations as required (break coverage) and drive Tow Motor.
Job Requirements
- Proof of successful completion of a High School diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, will be requested.
- Must pass ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform bonafide essential job duties.
- Experience doing repetitive tasks.
- Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment.
- Demonstrated good attendance in the present position.
- Demonstrated good performance & good quality in the present position.
- Demonstrated positive attitude, applying Baxter's Shared Commitments.
- Ability to balance multiple and conflicting priorities.
