Job Purpose
Protein Biochemisty group has a mission to design and generate vaccine candidates by understanding their relation to disease using state-of-the art technology and talent, ensuring delivery of best-in-class vaccines to the patients.
Your role
The Associate Scientist in Protein Biochemistry group is expected to design and execute scientific studies in the lab, under guidance of the Lab head, to support vaccine pipeline projects in discovery, development or life cycle management. More specifically, he/she will be responsible for planning, executing, analyzing and troubleshooting recombinant protein vaccine prototype production activities as well as new technology implementation within the expression platform and may support other activities within the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for its routine planning, implementation/execution, and interpretation of scientific research experiments in support of vaccine research and development under the lab head supervision.
- Manage organization and maintenance of the laboratory, including inventory and lab supply management
- Master students internship supervision
- Perform data management and draw conclusions from experimental data. Based on data interpretation, suggest next steps to meet project objectives.
- Ensure timely data collection, & reporting (including participation to internal/external scientific documents) in area of responsibility. Participate actively and present lab results in internal meetings, working groups and technical teams and ensure extensive quality check of raw data.
- Ensure highest ethical standards, good scientific practices & data integrity are implemented in daily scientific activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the key research activities and basic regulations
- Takes appropriate actions to resolve issues in area of responsibility affecting research strategy and progress
- Communicate issues proactively and effectively negotiates potential solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Life sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in recombinant protein expression, including high throughput production.
- Fluent in French, oral and writing. Proficiency in English would be highly advantageous.
- Good communication skills, oral and writing
- Ability to present data and findings clearly and concisely
- Good project scientific/technical strategy skills
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Master in Life sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
- Previous experience working in cross-functional teams, demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with experts from different scientific backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a research or development project within the area of expertise.
- Experience in mRNA-based vaccine is an asset.
- Experience in Recombinant protein purification and characterization is an asset.
