Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The successful candidate will lead the maintenance team and reports to GCPL Central Basin Facility Manager with dotted line reporting to National Maintenance.
Area of responsibility
Safety
Ambassador for maintenance related safety
Regular engagements with corporate safety representatives on best practices and safety initiatives that are being implemented & rolled out
Make suggestions to improve plant safety, efficiency, reliability and quality
Lead by example and motivate others to excel and succeed
Set and maintain high housekeeping standards
Audit and verify correctness of work permits and LOTO’s issued to maintenance teams (own and contractors)
Partake in all safety and process safety incidents investigations in the zone
Support and comply with all Air Liquide Safety, Health and Environmental procedures/policies
Personnel management
Leading a multidisciplinary team composed of a maintenance engineer, maintenance planners, maintenance lead hands, Instrument & Electrical technicians, Mechanical technicians and a warehouse technician
Track the training and progression of every maintenance employee
Identify successors in the maintenance field for potential larger roles in LI NAM
Identify all the development areas for maintenance employees in the zone
Sign off on the development of all employees on a fixed frequency
Regularly interact with the facility manager and HR on the development and progression of the maintenance employees
Initiate disciplinary actions when required
Operational maintenance
Verify the asset database in Maximo is accurate and correct
Actively participate in improving the asset management interventions
Scheduler/Planner for loading both corrective maintenance (CM) and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules on a daily and monthly basis at the plant level for the entire Central Basin
verification of daily, weekly and monthly operational schedules compiled from Maximo, planning, resource allocation to the scheduled jobs (PMs, PDMs, corrective maintenance which does not require turnaround outage),
verification of man hour availability, loading requests for service providers to support the execution of the maintenance tasks (when required),
utilize and adhere to the corporate technical standards
supervising the execution of the maintenance activities,
quality control & assurance of the work,
verification of sign off and accuracy of job completion, and
closing the loop in Maximo
assist Maintenance teams in updating and maintaining equipment manuals as well as job plans in Maximo
Identify improvement opportunities & change maintenance philosophies accordingly
Steer maintenance teams and engineering to develop maintenance improvement projects to improve reliability and efficiency of the basin
Long term maintenance (TAR management)
Verifying all TAR related info in Maximo is correct
TAR preventative and corrective maintenance work orders verified and included in the planning system
Actively participate in the planning and scheduling of TAR at the various sites / units to ensure a well planned TAR
Participate with own maintenance technicians in the TAR execution & verification of quality work
Ensure sign off and updating of job plans in Maximo
Verify that Maximo is updated at the end of the TAR
Implement internal developed projects and programs when outage are required for implementation
Involve maintenance engineer in planning and verifying TAR planning
Budget
Responsible for managing an extensive maintenance budget whilst completing plant based maintenance activities on a predefined schedule
Participate in and understand the R&M budgeting process. Participate in the development of annual maintenance schedule, budget and turnaround plans
Work closely with site personnel and contractors; monitor contractor work quality and costs
Other Key Responsibilities
Interacting with plant managers from the five zones on a day to day basis
Plan to implement and execute the maintenance strategies as compiled by the LI NAM Maintenance director aligned with all the Operations sites across North America
Interact with maintenance managers across North America to share best practices and improve maintenance across LI NAM
Responsible for managing the local exceptional maintenance and escalates to National Maintenance when necessary
Ensure proper documentation of work within Maximo -Review vendor repair, test & inspection reports communicating results summary to affected plants.
Work with the National Warehouse and LI NAM maintenance leaders to identify strategic inventory & ensuring the availability of strategic spares & equipment
Plant based interface with the National Maintenance teams.
Engage Subject matter experts to direct and oversee vendor shop repairs; ensure highest quality work and adherence to Air Liquide standards
Support additional maintenance issues as requested by management
Ability to work call-outs, nights, weekends & holidays.

Are you a MATCH?
Mechanical Engineering Degree (preferred)
10+ years experience in plant maintenance activities
Thorough understanding of safety requirements when working around plant equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Managing change
Ability to foster teamwork and navigate matrix organizations.
Ability to manage multi discipline technicians to achieve a schedule and maintenance strategy
