Job Title: Director, Engineering
Location: Greendale, IN
Position Summary:
Provide general leadership and direct supervision to maintenance mechanic crew. Train, coach, mentor crew so that they can perform at maximum efficiency. Oversee all functions involving maintenance of facilities and equipment. Manage the Site Master Plan to support current and future business considerations assuring safety and quality. Ensure that quality standards are maintained and productivity targets are met. Maintain MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) inventory. Direct employees in proper safety procedures. Set-up and oversee a preventive/predictive maintenance program.
The Role:
- Responsible for Preventative Maintenance Program in the facility, ensuring that program meets all quality and safety standards.
- Oversee and direct the planning and execution of daily production activity;
- Direct and manage the operations to improve performance through continuous improvement methodology and problem analysis to reduce unscheduled downtime, minor equipment stops, breakdowns, process upsets, material quality losses.
- Support, participate in, and meet the Company overall Objectives, Goals, Strategies, and Measures (OGSM).
- Oversee and lead all people related requirements for the area including but not limited goal setting, performance management, succession planning, employee development, and support of a diverse and inclusive culture
- Provides leadership and direction through managers.
- Is accountable for the performance and results of related disciplines.
- Executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy for up to 6-18+ months in advance.
- Manage Site Master Planning
- Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities
- Some domestic and global travel to support projects
The Candidate:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred MBA a plus
- 10+ years engineering, continuous improvement, manufacturing technology, validation
- 5+ years management experience
- 5+ years in a regulated industry
- OSHA 10 or equivalent a plus
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred
- Knowledge/Skills Requirements: (List unique knowledge skills, or problem-solving requirements)
- Strong analytical/problem solving/process improvement skills
- Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines
- Strong leadership skills, with an ability to build trust, provide direction, and execute with excellence
- Strong foundation in interpersonal communication concepts, specifically, written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and develop effective solutions
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
