Job Overview
This position is in charge for the day to day operational support and management of AIX based server infrastructure across TE globally. The individual in this role is involved in both ‘business as usual’ support activity as well as support of project implementations. Key objectives in this role are standardization, simplification and consolidation of the environment all while delivering on scalability.
• Demonstrates a passion to learn and grow via both on the job and formal training.
• Provides day to day operational assistance of all infrastructure related to AIX servers.
• Actively participates in the resolution of service now tickets by taking ownership of tickets, resolving and closing with proper detail. Works with other engineers to support the closure of tickets where applicable.
• Contributes to the development and documenting of standards as they relate to the global server platforms by working with other members of the team.
• Leverages toolsets to monitor and manage the server platforms and underlaying systems.
• Proactively monitors and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports.
• Participates in projects as a contributor completing specific tasks or requests in a timely fashion.
• Able to identify tasks and prioritize accordingly to deliver on short term and long-term activities.
• Works closely with other infrastructure teams including storage, backup and disaster recovery groups to align infrastructure and related processes to deliver a service based IT infrastructure.
• Consults with peers on areas to ensure alignment/strategy.
• Interest in supporting and learning Unix/AIX platforms in a scalable/enterprise model.
• Intermediate knowledge of Unix/AIX server infrastructure, network concepts, firewall and storage areas in order to troubleshoot issues.
• Comfortable with working in a large, global, follow-the-sun organization.
• Experience in supporting large mission-critical Corporate systems.
• Strong knowledge of IBM AIX 7.2 and the supporting technologies (HACMP, HMC V9R2, VIOS, SEA, SR-IOV, Power8/9). Knowledge of HPE technologies (SD Flex, Synergy, Primera), NetApp, VMWare, Dell Compellent, Cisco UCS & FC Switches, and Brocade a plus.
• Experience with SUSE Enterprise Linux for SAP, Centrify DC and DA.
• Solid knowledge of various supporting technologies including scripting/automation and networking. Knowledge of AWS cloud services a plus.
• Good knowledge of scripting technologies and management tools to assist in development of Solarwinds and Ansible.
• Participate in an on-call support rotation required
• As required, adjust shift/extended shift

- Generally, requires bachelor’s degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 4 years of experience; Master’s degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $111,920-167,880 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
