As an Engineer II, EHS, you will play a crucial role in our organization by designing and leading EHS operational strategies and process improvements.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Evaluating environmental and safety needs with a focus on air permitting, wastewater solutions, ergonomics, and hazardous materials/waste; proposing options and implementation plans.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with EHS goals and programs.
- Providing EHS expertise for new processes, new products, and technologies, and participating in the change control process of the site.
- Researching, analyzing, and evaluating data to create routine reports in response to internal requests.
- Investigating root causes for EHS incidents and deviations from compliance, recommending corrective and preventive measures, and providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Developing and revising EHS training and written programs to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, delivering training as necessary.
- Conducting periodic internal inspections and audits at the site to ensure continuous compliance with applicable regulations and providing guidance to appropriate team members.
- Acting as a liaison with government agencies for EHS managers as assigned by the Manager.
- Participating in emergency response activities and other duties as assigned by management.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR
- Master's Degree or equivalent in internship, senior projects, or thesis in Engineering, Scientific, or EHS related including either industry or industry/education Required

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong documentation, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills, including negotiating and relationship management.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of EPA, OSHA, NRC, local, and federal regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Solid understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned work.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality standards.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of EHS to the business.
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, including managing suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships.
- Adherence to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures to prevent injuries and protect the environment.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California, the base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 (highly experienced).
