Job Summary:
In this role, you will oversee manufacture and startup of new plant equipment and equipment as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide sound engineering support with hands on expertise and practices in projects from conception through production.
- Interact with engineering, management, site and corporate team members and/or vendors to develop engineering specifications for new equipment or required process improvements; produce, modify, and maintain drawings; maintain project timelines; continuously evaluate projects from the tasks, resource and costs perspective, ensure delivery of the projects on time and within budget; and actively install, start-up, and validate equipment or tooling.
- Provide engineering guidance to assure plant, machinery and processes are optimized.
- Administrate plant maintenance management software.
- Assist in electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic design modifications.
- Manage and coordinate plant and capital projects, properly document work, and maintain history of projects in appropriate project files.
- Support process improvements, cost reductions/savings, scrap reductions, etc. through the implementation of LEAN concepts.
- Improve processes and procedures to manufacture a quality product at a minimum cost.
- Provide technical expertise to other plant personnel.
- Research and analyze data such as vendor design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Assist in installation of new products, tooling and related processes; investigate tooling and process problems; make new product/process recommendations.
- Support Engineering projects and support product development as required.
- Provides engineering assistance to ensure plant, machinery, tooling and processes are at optimum.
- Coordinate and/or perform all necessary validations and/or process engineering evaluations as needed for manufacturing equipment.
- Assure OSHA and safety regulations are followed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering or commensurate experience.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Medical device development and manufacturing background preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, basic electrical/automation equipment and industrial techniques.
- Knowledge of Injection Molding would be an advantage.
- Must have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Must have knowledge of sound engineering principles and practice.
- Must possess the ability to plan work and supervise others, as needed.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the time.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Light – exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of force greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.

- The performance of this position periodically requires exposure to typical manufacturing areas were under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and hearing protection.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the production manufacturing work environment is usually moderate to loud; hearing protection is required.
