This is a co-op position that will participate as a member of cross-functional research and development teams which develop leading edge products for use in industrial environments. This involves supporting the design of industrial electrical connectors, optical/inductive sensors, mechanical switches or the design of sealed enclosures containing various electronic or mechanical devices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs engineering assignments on part of a major project or of a complete project.
Demonstrates creativity in developing solutions, which will allow Rockwell Automation to maintain our position as an Industry leader.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and works well within a team environment.
Capable of defining and performing engineering tests to qualify designs.
Capable of designing electro-mechanical test systems for various engineering design validation projects.
Capable of executing engineering change orders and managing BOMs
Capable of creating and modifying CAD models and drawings
Basic Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelors or advanced degree from and accredited college or university.
Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future.
Co-op Requirement: eligible to work during the Spring school semester, from January through May, with the potential to work through the summer.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelors or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering/Systems Engineering or similar
Minimum cumulative GPA of at 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
Preference given to students with previous Rockwell Automation work experience or trained on our equipment.
Proficiency in the use of a 3D Solid Modeling CAD system (preferably Pro/E,Creo, and Solidworks) and PLM software
Experience with programming electro mechanical systems.
Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise software
Familiarity with designing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical test systems which include pneumatic cylinders, limit & proximity switches, linear bearing systems
A good understanding of multi action tooling fabrication techniques to support complex plastic injection molded or die cast components
