Maintenance Technician

Welcome to Greendale, Indiana! Greendale is part of the Wellness Group within Catalent, as well as the Softgel and Oral Technologies (SOT Business Unit). This Catalent manufacturing operation specializes in gummy manufacturing. On site, we have a state-of-the-art Mogul unit for manufacturing gummies, a highspeed bottling process, and a pouching operation.
The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, maintains, improves and repairs all production machines and existing plant equipment. Performs fabrication on small projects and assists in installation of new equipment. The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs buildings and processes throughout the facility, including utilities within the building.
Hours: 6pm-6am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
The Role
- Perform basic PMs, mechanical maintenance, and repairs across the site. Keeps plant equipment running and in good repair and makes repairs in a timely manner. Take responsibility for producing high quality product in each step of production.
- Help maintain good housekeeping in mechanical and facility areas. Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of repair shop, maintenance office, and storage areas including all equipment, tools, supplies and materials found therein.
- Makes improvements to plant systems and facilities.
- Assists with small scale process improvement projects.
- Assists Manager and Engineering in troubleshooting repairs.
- Assists Plant staff with adjustments and changeovers of Plant machinery when circumstances are unusual, or as needed.
- Promptly reports to plant leadership all serious equipment malfunctions, and suggested course of action.
- Observe and follow safe work practices while also observing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and Food Quality Plan (FQP) and participates in all necessary training that is required to successfully perform job responsibilities.

The Candidate
- Associates Degree with 3+ years of experience troubleshooting, maintaining, improving and repairing production machines and existing plant equipment or High School Diploma and 5+ years of this experience or technical/vocational training required
- Advanced industrial electrical experience strongly preferred
- Previous GMP and/or food manufacturing experience preferred
- Advanced Machine Shop Tools
- Skilled trades; I.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds, infrequently move up to 1000 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
