Senior Network Cloud Engineer

Introduction to role:
The Senior Network Cloud Engineer will design and implement end-to-end network infrastructure automation capabilities that align with the strategic goals of the business and AZ IT. Are you ready to drive change and innovate in a dynamic environment?
Accountabilities:
- Develop network automation capabilities to meet specific technical requirements whilst integrating into all operational and business processes (e.g., change control, CMDB).
- Educate and promote automation techniques and technologies within Global Network Engineering.
- Develop and uphold technical standards for infrastructure and automation.
- Participate in the AZIT Network Architecture Review Board (NARB) governance framework to ensure overall design and implementation documentation quality meets expected standards.
- Produce high and low-level designs for Cloud Network Services like AWS/Azure/GCP and Network Security and Data Centre solutions to meet specific business requirements.
- Work across the organization to integrate with hybrid cloud infrastructure, end-user, and customer-facing technology teams.
- Support the transition of new automation workflows into production, working with operational teams to resolve any issues.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, APIs, scripting, automated testing, network configuration templating, network security compliance, network controllers, and other aspects of network automation.
- Network Security, Segmentation & Zero Trust Architecture.
- Appreciation for established approaches in fixed and wireless network design and configuration.
- Must have experience in a similar role.
- Awareness of developments in the marketplace for manufacturing domain focus and potential impact on AZ.
- Ability to explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences.
Desirable Skills
We are also looking for candidates with experience in one of the below
Network Automation and DevOps
- Experience of API integration with common network platforms, controllers and business processes
- Scripting skills to interrogate and configure network devices using languages such ANSIBLE or Python
- Familiar with common data structures (JSON, YAML) and database technologies
- GitHub or equivalent SCM experience
- Familiar with Atlassian products and SNOW Nextgen products
- Knowledge of automated testing processes
- Experience of leading the implementation of complex first of type changes
- Experience with public cloud environments and public cloud networking components
- Knowledge of Terraform or ANSIBLE to work with public cloud infrastructure
- Experience with workflow orchestration and/or pipelines
Network Infrastructure
- Expert understanding of routing and switching fundamentals, ideally across Cisco or Ruckus technologies
- Demonstrate an expert understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols
- In depth knowledge of Palo Alto, Zscaler security technologies
- High level of technical knowledge and experience on devices to include general load balancing principles on F5 and NetScaler platforms.
Network Security
- Experiences in designing and configuring a Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) architecture including policies, profiling and posturing best practice
- Segmentation technologies
- Zero Trust architecture, principles and platforms
- Firewall Policy and ruleset optimisation, analysis and best practice
- Cisco StealthWatch and NetFlow experience
- Experience in a multi-vendor firewall environment consists of Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, FirePower and Zone-Based Firewalls
- Expert working knowledge of Cisco Products; ASA, FirePOWER, ISE
Certifications:
Enterprise & Cloud Networking
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE Routing and Switching
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE Data Center
- AWS / Azure / GCP Cloud Specialty Certifications
Network Security
- CCNP/CCIE Security
- Any other Network Security Certifications
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
