Role Description:
The PC&IS Senior Engineer leads the electrical and controls definition, design, and delivery of initiative-driven PC&IS projects for on-going automation and digitization solutions in the manufacturing department.
The PC&IS Senior Engineer owns PC&IS technologies from concept to validation, training, and startup and is often involved in defining the strategy, resources, budget, contractors, and standards that will be required for projects. They become masters of the PC&IS technology, providing innovative solutions for power, controls and information system platforms, information networks, and digitization to deliver superior and highly efficient process, packaging, production systems at our manufacturing site. The PC&IS Senior Engineer constantly achieve long-term results, to meet the business objectives, through technical mastery and leadership. The individual in this role should have the ability to manage and coach direct reports.
Responsibilities and Scope of Role:
Lead the overall PC&IS scope definition, design, and delivery of intelligent controls and automation systems within initiative-driven projects.
Design and deliver PC&IS excellence throughout the project lifecycle, including PC&IS standard compliance, electrical safety key element assessment (KEA) compliance, network, and cybersecurity compliance, etc.
Maintain and exemplifies electrical safety best practices and follows all site-specific standards.
Identify automation challenges and drive solutions aligned with our "Factory of the Future" vision.
Integrates control systems, automation, and digitization into the manufacturing process.
Collaborate with the cross-functional teams, including but not limited to operators, engineers, quality assurance, safety personnel, construction personnel, and electricians on defining a comprehensive PC&IS technical scope and plan to execute projects end to end.
Ensure Safety Validations, NRTL inspections, and any regulatory electrical permits are obtained.
Provide technical expertise in areas such as sensors, motors, PLCs, machine vision, networking, and power distribution systems.
Use programming data tools, data acquisition tools, and leverage the capability in other engineers, technicians, and self to achieve solutions.
Deliver programming and integration improvements to drive quality and productivity.
Collaborate with regional and global engineering organizations and production sites to share best practices, drive standardization, and benchmark internally/externally to bring up-to-date technology solutions.
Ensure that electrical and controls technical documentation for area of ownership is developed and maintained, including but not limited to design basis, user requirements, schematics, scope, validation documents, and instructions related to electrical equipment, network architecture, and software design.
Ensure Computer System Validation (CSV) strategy is defined, aligned, and executed.
Grow technical capability on electrical and controls skills in other engineers, technicians, and self by delivering trainings on technical topics.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, digital manufacturing trends, and industry 4.0 advancements to drive continuous improvement in automation systems.
Job Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications Required to Successfully Perform Role (some may be developed while in role)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering (or other related degree and/or work-related experience).
Proven experience with industrial computer networks, process optimization, data analysis, and process control methodologies.
Proven expertise with sensors, motors, PLC’s, and industrial automation
Skills to program industrial PLC & HMI (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Schneider, Eaton, etc.)
Ability to read and understand electrical single line drawings, flow sheets, layouts, electrical schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.
Strong leadership, business problem definition, and priority setting skills.
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems. In-depth root cause problem solving capability.
Skills to analyze software related issues.
Skills to use electrical diagnostics tools and meters.
Ability to perform electrical and instrumentation work following all electrical safety procedures.
Ability to set standards, role model, coach, teach, and set technical direction.
Aptitude to learn and receive P&G specific job qualifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to interface with vendors, engineering contacts, core teams, and management.
Self-motivation – able to perform job with little or no supervision and understand leadership intent and vision.
Aptitude to handle a dynamic work environment and to think outside the box.
An aptitude for communicating insights and collaborating across teams/organizations to build capability.
Job skills desired (the following skills are a plus):
Experience with Robotics, Machine Vision, and/or Networking skills.
Strong programming knowledge and experience (i.e., Python, Ladder Logic, LabVIEW, Java, C#, etc.)
Experience with installation, configuration, and integration of less than 1000 volts electrical systems.

Site Expected Qualifications (may be developed while in the role):
Basic to intermediate in Essential Capital Systems Management (ECMS) and Engineering Work Process (EWP)
Basic to intermediate in electrical sensors and instrumentation skills.
Basic to intermediate in motion and process controls skills.
Basic understanding of Integrated Work Systems (IWS) methodologies
Well versed in P&G Global Electrical Spec, PCP650, and Machine Safety CBAs.
Priorities and Approximate Allocation of Time:
60% - Project execution, delivery, and system ownership
40% - Coaching and capability building
Site Eligibility Required for the role:
Basic Citizenship at “Meets Expectations” or better.
Not currently involved in Performance Management
Satisfactory work record in present assignment and acceptable current performance evaluation
Able to work flexible time and/or flow to the work as required by business needs
