The VPT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and expertise to the CTI/Repligen sales force and customers related to the laboratory instrumentation its sells and supports. The laboratory technology developed and marketed by CTI/Repligen includes variable path length UV/Vis spectroscopy instrumentation. The systems are sold primarily into the pharmaceutical and biotech industry and are commonly used for quantifying concentrations of proteins and antibodies in drug discovery and development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
The VPT Support Specialist will provide support both at CTI/Repligen and on site at customer locations. The type of support will include system qualifications for Installation and Operation (IQOQ), product testing, system maintenance and customer training. Delivering training and support will involve travel to customer locations both domestic and international. Training will be provided by CTI/Repligen.
Responsibilities
- Learn the fundamental principles of Slope Spectroscopy and the theory of operation of the SoloVPE spectrophotometer system.
- Learn how to operate the SoloVPE, FlowVPE and FlowVPX systems and their components
- Learn how to maintain and repair the SoloVPE, FlowVPE and FlowVPX systems and their components.
- Perform Sample testing on customer samples and in support of product development and sales.
- Train Customers on the theory and operation of the SoloVPE, FlowVPE and FlowVPX systems
- Perform Installation, Operational and Performance Qualifications of the SoloVPE, FlowVPE and FlowVPX systems.
- Provide in house technical support to Sales and CTI/Repligen Customers
- Provide on-site technical support to CTI/Repligen Customers
- Provide help desk and troubleshooting support to customers (in person and remotely)
- Learn compliance with the USP and EP requirements
- Support the CTI/Repligen Sales Force with testing, reporting and customer interactions.
- Facilitate the Instrument Demo/Loaner System Programs including performing verification testing of demo systems upon return and prior to shipment.
- Document activities on the CTI/Repligen CRM software platforms & deliver all post-visit findings to appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Significant Domestic and International travel as required (50%+), either alone or together with sales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Biology, Chemistry) or 0-2+ years of equivalent lab experience.
- Work experience in a laboratory.
- Basic understanding of good lab practices (GLP).
- Basic computer science knowledge (windows environment).
- Ability to read, follow and understand technical procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with and repairing equipment.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $60,000-65,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
