Job Description
SGS is seeking a laboratory Assistant to join our relief pool. This is a FIFO position travelling to our various onsite Laboratories.
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
- Responsible for unloading, loading, sorting and weighing of samples onto drying racks while maintaining numerical order.
- Reconcile samples delivered with the supplied sample submission form listing extras and those not received onto the sample sorting sheet (iso sheet).
- Responsible for milling samples and transferring sub-samples to sample packets while maintaining numerical order and following established quality control procedures and avoiding contamination.
- Task allocation will vary according to workload and may include drying, screening, crushing and assisting in other areas of the laboratory
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualifications and experience whilst desirable are not essential.
- Forklift license (desirable).
- Organisation and efficiency. Teamwork and cooperation
- Effective communication
- WA C Class Driver's License (manual preferred)
- Physically fit due to required tasks and responsibilities.
- Meet site access requirements (ie: training, induction and medical requirements)
