Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
This position is responsible for managing the advanced materials and precursor lab operations at the Fremont Balazs location to ensure safe, quality and timely services to internal and external customers.
Assure the accident and incident free conduct of employees in the lab.
Direct, manage and assist in activities in the advanced materials and precursor labs to ensure quality of data generated.
Manage the laboratory and staff to provide timely results to customers.
Manage laboratory facility, staff and lab areas to ensure all operations are efficient and cost effective.
Ensure all instrumentation operated by the lab undergoes preventative maintenance in accordance with OEM guidelines and the established quality standards
Lead the method development activities for analysis of new precursor molecules or samples.
Work with lab technical leadership to ensure technical clarity with Balazs reports and clear communication to customers for samples from the precursor lab
Ensure new techniques and methods are implemented in the laboratory in a timely manner
Work in concert with Fremont lab director and other lab managers/members to ensure performance objectives are met.
Ensure adherence to the ISO 9001:2000 ISO 17025 and IMS requirements for lab operations.
Contribute to the safety, quality and direction of overall laboratory services within the Fremont laboratory and Balazs operations.
Help recruit, hire and develop talented technicians, chemists, and technical experts in the labs.
Must have ability to be adaptable to new requirements in the laboratory setting

Are you a MATCH?
B.S. Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
Advanced degree is preferred
Considerable experience and knowledge in the sample preparation and analysis of various atomic layer deposition (ALD) precursor materials using ICP-MS instrumentation and other required techniques
Considerable experience discussing test results with customers
5 years minimum working and supervisory skills in a laboratory environment with accomplishment in production lab figures of merit (turnaround time, quality and reliability)
5 years minimum experience in analytical instrumentation and analysis with an equivalent technical knowledge base
The Salary rate range for this position in California is $130,000.00 to $145,000.00
